The Melbourne-Parkville Branch conducts research in to growth factor and cytokine signal transduction, animal models of gastrointestinal cancer, epithelial biology and the genetics underlying bowl cancer. The Branch enjoys close links to the University of Melbourne, The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and it is home to the Institute’s Colon Cancer Initiative.

The Melbourne-Austin Branch integrates laboratory, translational and clinical sciences in coordinated and strategic research themes that are central to the global Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research mission and Programs. Based at Austin Health (Heidelberg, Melbourne), several senior Melbourne Centre research staff have clinical appointments and are involved actively in the treatment and care of cancer patients.
